Slide transition

During a PowerPoint slide show, the slide transitions determine how one slide moves from the screen and the next slide moves onto the screen. Each slide can have its own transition effect (i.e., move onto the screen in a different way).

EXAMPLES OF TRANSITION EFFECTS:

TRANSITION DESCRIPTION

Fade Through Black - The current slide fades into black, and the next slide slowly appears.

Cover Down - The next slide covers up the current
slide as it moves down into place.

Checkerboard Across - The next slide comes across the
current slide in a checkerboard
pattern until the current slide is gone.

These are just a few examples. Other transition effects can be selected from the 'Effect' drop-down list box, in the 'Slide Transition' dialog box.

NOTE: To open the 'Slide Transition' dialog box, to set or change a transition for a selected slide, select the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Slide Transition...'. (The Slide Transition dialog box appears.)
